Among the services XS Pros Elevator Services offers, you’ll find:

Annual/Routine Inspections

These are scheduled examinations and operations of your equipment by a certified elevator inspector to check for compliance with applicable Code requirements.

Periodic Tests

These tests involve a detailed examination and operation of your equipment at specific intervals, witnessed by a certified elevator inspector to check for code compliance. The building owner or their agent must provide qualified personnel to perform the required tests. The elevator inspector should also be accompanied by a person familiar with the equipment’s operation to assist during the inspection, as required by ASME A17.2 2012.

Acceptance Inspections

This is the initial inspection and test of new or altered equipment performed by an inspector to ensure it complies with all applicable Code requirements. The building owner or their agent must provide qualified personnel to perform the required tests. The elevator inspector should be accompanied by a person familiar with the equipment’s operation to assist during the inspection, as required by ASME A17.2 2012.

Inspection for Temporary Construction Use

Permanent passenger or freight elevators in buildings under construction, modification, or demolition can be used to transport workers or materials. However, they must first be approved and issued a temporary permit for the specific service by the authorities or department with jurisdiction. When these elevators are used to transport personnel and operate in permanent hoistways on permanent guide rails, they must also conform to the applicable requirements of the ANSI/ASME A 17.1 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators.

Qualified Elevator Inspector

All of our inspectors hold both the National Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) and the Certified Elevator Inspector (CEI) certifications required by jurisdictions for performing inspections that comply with ASME A17.1, Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators and ASME QEI-1-2013.
